The first larger community the child comes into contact with, is the school. Incorporation into a Community means yielding, means subordinating one’s will to that of others, means giving up a tiny bit of self for the sake of the group. Adapting oneself to a group is not at all easy, even for children. It is a Parent – Teachers – Task to respect the personality of the boy and to see that he does not become the sheep-like follower of a crowd, afraid of voicing his own opinion, in terror of the personality of strong masters, bereft of independent thinking, lost is the romance to be found in inquiry.
